This release brings a powerful set of enhancements to improve moderation control, streamline group communication, and enhance user experience across mobile and web. From secure media sharing to group-specific restrictions and workspace-driven auto-channel generation, Access Messenger 1.2.0 strengthens communication while maintaining compliance and flexibility.
What's new
Media Sharing in Chats
Users can now upload and send image files in chat conversations across both mobile and web. This feature enhances conversation richness through visual communication and uses secure cloud storage with media previews. It also includes error handling for unsupported files. Supported formats include .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png, and .gif.
User Search with Information Barriers
Improved user search now respects Workspace Group visibility rules. This functionality is enforced in browser and mobile group creation, ensuring users only see contacts they're permitted to interact with, thus supporting compliance with sensitive communication policies.
Auto Communities Creation Based on Workspace Groups
Moderators can now auto-generate Communities, tied to Workspace Groups. The system automatically syncs user memberships every four hours, simplifying onboarding and group communication setup. This feature is fully integrated into the moderation tools area.
Communication Restrictions (Information Barriers)
Administrators can now define communication rules between groups. This functionality blocks direct messages between disallowed group combinations and can be edited or deleted through the new Moderation > Information Barriers screen. All restrictions are enforced in real time based on Workspace sync.
Mobile Footer Navigation for Communities
Mobile users now have quick access to Communities via a footer menu icon. This reduces taps to access key conversations, supports a smoother mobile experience, and is optimised for smaller screens with swipe-to-close support.
Improvements
Communities and DM Sorting (Web)
Communities and direct messages are now grouped and sorted more clearly. Unread items are prioritised and float to the top of the list. Users can also mute, flag, and view member information through contextual menus. These changes reduce noise and improve findability.
Bug fixes
Fixed an issue where users without permissions were still able to access Messenger.
Resolved an error causing crashes when switching tabs in the Moderation area.
Prevented login using deactivated accounts from locking the device.
We appreciate your continued feedback and support as we enhance Access Messenger.
