Group admin transfer — Groups now have a designated admin. If the admin leaves, a new admin is automatically assigned so member management always has an owner.

Smarter "start new chat" — Starting a 1:1 chat with someone you already have an open conversation with now opens that existing chat instead of creating a duplicate. For groups, you'll be prompted to choose between reopening an existing group or starting a new one, since multiple groups with the same members are often intentional.

Improved photo & video viewing — Full-screen video playback with native controls, and a fixed image swiper so swiping between multiple photos in a message works reliably (previously broken for any message with 4+ images).
